this is where Amy's mothers side of the family were born and grew up. now it's become a tourist area, popular for it's narrow lanes, shops and canals.
this is where the boat chase scenes were filmed for Mission Impossible 3.
the first pic, Amy's uncle ( carrying my bag ) is giving the officials a gob full and telling them we all got in for free. earlier he had a massive argument with the uniformed official, nearly becoming a fight. the family did not want to pay 100 RMB each to get into their home village. and they would not let a foreigner (me) in for free. so we ended up going thru another ticket gate who knew the family and let us all in without paying.
